Meet the Brother/Sister Duo behind Schott Ranch!
"Play Hard, Work Harder"
Even as a young boy Troy has had a deep connection to growing things. Always the first to go through the seed catalogues and help plan each year’s garden as well as eager to learn all the workings of the grain farm he grew up on, Troy also had an early love for animals. After high school he, alongside his brother Dennis, purchased the current Schott Ranch farm and after completing secondary training for Greenspace Management Troy co-created his landscaping business “Crystal Oasis Landscaping”. It was not long after that the dream to one day own his own greenhouse started to take form. Fast forward years of hard work and planning as well as building up his herd of not only cattle, but alpacas, pigs, chickens, ducks, goats and peacocks; the current “Schott Ranch Greenhouse & Market” is born. In the fall of 2020 the greenhouse structures were purchased and the ground was dug to bring to fruition his greenhouse goals with a “Play Hard, Work Harder” mentality!

With a culinary trained background and a try hard mentality, Rhea brings a different skill set to the ranch. Married a farmer of her own, she is connected to the agriculture world and driven to grow and learn. Community, connectivity and creativity are the 3 c’s she lives by and tries to incorporate into everything she does at Schott Ranch.

This pup duo are miniature schnauzers that have lovingly become our ranch mascots! They are typically found greeting anyone and everyone who comes onto the farm! Izzy has a more relaxed demeanour and loves nothing more than a good ear scratch and lap bed. Oliver, our gremlin is a bit more high-strung and unsure of littles. Our canine couple are integral parts of the farm, don’t be fooled by their size! They can hunt, herd and are amazing companions here at Schott Ranch!
